Gray Hat SEO is a cross or mix between White and Black Hat SEO .While Gray Hat specialist take greater risks than White Hat specialist, they do not want to get a website banned. However, a search engine may set a penalty on some Gray Hat technique. Although, Gray Hat techniques and Black Hat techniques are not in the same type. The ethical viewpoint of Gray Hat specialist or practitioners or expert  is cloudy at a best. A regular practice of Gray Hat techniques are having a keyword density which is sufficient enough to make the content inelegant, And not at the level of Black Hat stuffing techniques. In some way, posting same content at different websites is considered as a Gray Hat method, but in future or later, it could be considered as a Black Hat methods. Techniques like three-way linking, using paid links , and link building in websites that are not appropriate may be considered as a Gray Hat method.
