Importance of Sitemaps

There are some  Importance of Sitemaps Sitemap files and sitemap indices are systems that are utilized to help search engine spiders crawl a website or page. Sitemaps and a site's navigation are closely interrelated. Basically, a site map (lower-case 's') is a listing or a map of your pages that humans can read. Sitemaps can be in two formats; HTML (HyperText Markup Language) and XML (eXtensible Markup Language). HTML (HyperText Markup Language is straightforwardly read by humans, and XML (eXtensible Markup Language) is geared towards search engines. A Sitemap (Upper-case 'S') index is generally an XML (eXtensible Markup Language) file that categorizes the XML (eXtensible Markup Language) sitemap files.

 The sitemap index files can be submitted to search engines by a webmaster that wants specific data to be visited by search engines.Sitemap files and sitemap indexes play a vital role in SEO (Search Engine Optimization). As SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is made up of techniques that are geared towards helping search engines locate and index a website's files, a Sitemap index pretty much tells the search engines, "Hey! Look over here!"An HTML (HyperText Markup Language) site map is particularly useful if an end-user has trouble finding a specific page on your site. The site map can be a whole page, or an element or portion of a page that displays a listing of the pages that can be found within your site. There are two common site map structures that a website can employ. In some cases, the site map for a webpage is the whole footer. In contrast, a site map is a click-able link in the footer of a webpage.
