Author Rank is the way to rank high in Google?

The web is changing. Google's algorithm is largely based on the "principle of authority". The more popular a site or page is, the higher it will rank in comparison to other websites for a particular query.

The signal for Google to measure this is always the number and quality of inbound links before. After all, a website that receives a lot of quality links will have something interesting to say. This rule goes for me too still.

But the social aspect is there another way around the corner: Author Rank.

Search Engine Optimization

Author Rank: what is it?

Let me first stress that Author Rank is not new. In 2005, Google has already filed a patent for "Agent Rank". The idea is that "Agents" (or authors) who publish content can be ranked based on how the content is received and interact with that content. "Agents" that a higher authority will have their content also show higher scores compared to "Agents" with less authority.

It is largely similar to the Page Rank algorithm of Google. Only we have websites and pages "replaced" by Agents (= authors).

Ultimately, there is not much done with this patent to last year. Everything came into overdrive. And it seems now that Author ware Rank soon will find its way into search engine optimization (if not already the case).
